Half a meter of snow in the base camp at the foot of Makalu. The weather does not favour the Polish Himalayan mountaineers

“We are waiting the bad weather through in C2. Snowfall is considerable. Prognoses for tomorrow are poor. In the base camp there is half a meter of snow” – said Artur Hajzer, the leader of the unification expedition of Polish Mountaineering Association to Makalu, in the latest report.

The expedition takes place thanks to support of Ministry of Sport and Tourism, Jerzy Kukuczka Polish Mountaineering Support Foundation and Hi Mountain.
